Kitsilano is known to be a good and safe area for families. We probably don’t even need to tell you about the number of great parks around and family-friendly restaurants. And if we’re talking about schools, well Kitsilano has some of the best in Vancouver.
Summer is almost over now and school is coming up much faster than kids would like, let alone the parents. Time to get to the stores and go to battle against other parents for the best back-to-school deals.
Bayview Elementary

It doesn’t matter what level your child is at, at Henry Hudson Elementary, the teachers pride themselves on student engagement. They support each child and show understanding towards their individual needs. Lord Tennyson Elementary is a single-track French Immersion school, meaning that it teaches only in French. This is the place to send a child who loves the outdoors. It has everything from gardens, fields, courts and adventure playgrounds. The school offers a noon hour program where students are able to explore an array of courses, such as arts, crafts, music and sports. Some clubs even include Hip Hop/Jazz Dance, Crochet and Knitting, Back to Nature, Detective Science, Glee, and even a Debate club. The school is an advocate for a healthy earth and also has a Zero Waste program which is an initiative to produce no waste products.
